Under the arrangement of the Burma News International (BNI), the Myanmar Peace Monitor (MPM) launched two peace reference books which have monitored Myanmar peace processes for 2019-2020 and 2021-2022, on September 8th.
The books aim to enable the public and those mainly involved in the peace process to understand information and events throughout the peace process in Myanmar and help support the peace-building.
The book collects information, changes and views, Ma Shwe Yee, Coordinator of the MPM said.
“We are sharing information about peace and conflicts in Myanmar through our products. Our main objective is to provide the persons involved in the peace process and the researchers with a lot of data and enable them to quote this information when the federal democracy is built in the future with the fall of the military dictatorship,” she added.

The reference book highlights the peace processes before the coup in 2019-2020 while another reference book highlights the coup and the resistance war.
The reference book for 2019-2020 collects important facts such as the direction of the Myanmar peace processes before the coup, conflict analysis, situations of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), peace-related meetings, special analysis reports, the Myanmar peace and international role.

The reference book for 2021-2022 covers information, reviews and analysis including the coup and direction of peace process, the direction of 21st Century Panglong Conference, new players which emerged after the coup, the situations of the IDPs, peace-related indexes, Spring Revolution movements and the international role.
In addition, the MPM will continue to monitor whether the direction of Myanmar peace process is in the hand of the military council or the National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC) and the National Unity Government (NUG) or Ethnic Armed Revolutionary Organizations (EROs) while the military and the revolutionary forces are trying to get international recognition. The book points out that it is directly related to the victory of the Spring Revolution if the final destination of peace is to build a federal union.
The MPM has issued seven peace reference books since 2013 till 2022.
