Wetlet Public Administration Team issued a statement on 23 July, warning it will take action against the revolutionary forces which are collecting money on Shwebo-Mandalay Union Road and Shwebo-Monywa Road.
Despite repeated verbal and non-verbal warnings, station, village, ward-level People’s Defense Forces (PDFs), the Public Administration Team and Local PDF continue to collect money by opening the checkpoints on roads in Sagaing region.
“There are around 10 teams between Shwebo and Sagaing. They are not collecting money forcibly. They said they are collecting money to buy weapons and ammunition,” a local who returned to Mandalay via Shwebo on 22 July said.

“There are a lot of groups. Some groups have no uniforms. It is not easy to handle them as there are disputes between the groups,” a local said.
Wetlet Township Public Administration Team will take action against the revolutionary forces which fail to abide by warning.
Wetlet Township Public Administration Team issued the warnings banning the collection of money first time on 16 December 2022, second on 7 June 2023 and third on 6 July 2023, the statement says.
