A 22-year-old woman was killed in a shooting between Sanpya and Hinsone villages in Ye Township in Mon State at around 4 pm on April 27th, according to locals.
“The victim visited her mother’s house along with her baby. Last night, there was a shooting. She got a gunshot wound to her head when she went to the hut from the hiding place to drink water. She died from a gunshot wound,” a local said.
On the morning of 29 April, Lamaing philanthropic organization sent her body to Lamaing hospital.
A combined force of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and Taungnyo Guerrilla Force ambushed a military convoy of seven vehicles leaving Thanbyuzayat for Ye, near Kaninkamaw village in Ye Township.
A soldier of the military council was killed and two wounded in the shooting, according to the statement by Taungnyo People’s Guerrilla Force in Mon State.
