Twenty members of the Laung Lon Township People’s Defense Force (LLPDF) in Tanintharyi Region have been killed during the more than three years of the Spring Revolution, according to a statement from the LLPDF on 15 November.
During the revolution, comrades lost their lives due to a combination of factors, including inadequate weapons, lack of combat experience, the need for specialized skills, and the reliability of information provided by military informants.
The LLPDF’s statement also revealed that the deaths of comrades resulted from various causes, including gunshot wounds, heavy shelling, landmine accidents, and health-related issues.
Ko Kywe, the deputy in-charge of the LLPDF said that due to these circumstances, they are currently addressing financial needs and focusing on military training to strengthen their capabilities and overcome existing weaknesses.
On 11 November, the LLPDF offered alms, yellow robes, and other donations to monks in dedication to the soldiers who lost their lives during the revolutionary struggle.
Since the coup, the LLPDF has emerged as a force capable of conducting military operations against the town, including targeting the junta’s battalions and camps.
The LLPDF was established on 8 September 2021, as a local defense force dedicated to fighting for the overthrow of the junta.
