The military junta carried out another airstrike on the Ye Chaung Pyar region in Ye Township around midnight on October 14, despite no fighting in the area, according to local sources.

Preliminary reports that military junta aircraft dropped two 500-pound bombs between Kinmun and Daepyar villages in the Ye Chaung Pyar region.

“The area was previously used as a training ground by the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) Battalion 27. There were no casualties because no one lives there,” a source from Ye Chaung Pyar said.

Although no casualties were reported, the airstrike damaged some plantations in the area.

A revolutionary source said the military junta has continued launching airstrikes in the Ye Chaung Pyar region despite the absence of clashes or ground operations involving junta troops and revolutionary allied forces.

“There have been no military columns entering the area. They are simply carrying out airstrikes whenever they want,” the source said.

In May and June, the military junta carried out repeated airstrikes on the Ye Chaung Pyar region, resulting in numerous civilian deaths and injuries.

Revolutionary forces said the junta had stopped conducting airstrikes in the area following those attacks but has now resumed aerial operations.

According to records compiled by the BNI-Myanmar Peace Monitor (BNI-MPM), a monitoring group under Burma News International (BNI), the military junta carried out 2,449 airstrikes across Myanmar between January 2024 and July 2026. Nearly 70% of those attacks reportedly targeted civilians.
