Junta conducts raids and airstrikes in Salin

Locals report that junta troops are conducting raids and airstrikes in Salin Township, Magway Region.

Since March 8, the military council has been conducting raids on Kya Pin village in Salin Township. Residents from five villages have fled to safer areas.

“So far, the military column remains in the village. Junta soldiers are looting houses in Kya Pin village and have abducted a monk from Taung Monastery,” a local said.

On the afternoon of 9 March, junta troops conducted an airstrike on Kya Pin village. Locals reported no damages.

On 6 March, the military council sent three combat vehicles, two six-wheeled BTRs and two Sinotruks from Magway to Salin, locals said.

On 9 March, fighting erupted between the military junta and resistance forces. Locals report that the military council suffered heavy casualties, but this has not been independently verified.
