Nine junta soldiers killed in attack on military column in Ngape Township

The People’s Revolution Alliance (PRA) Magway Commander-in-Chief says that nine people were killed in an attack on a military column in Ngape Township, Magway Region.

On 20 November, a military council column of around 40 members was attacked by local defense groups about 1,000 meters east of Goke Gyi village in Ngape Township, he said.

PRA Magway Commander-in-Chief Ko Naung Thurein said: “We attacked the advancing military column that was providing security for the convoys sending reinforcements to Arakan State, which had been left behind after their vehicle broke down.”

This is a joint military column consisting of troops from the No. 905 Artillery Operations Command and military personnel who have completed their training.

Despite the attack, the convoys continued their journey to Arakan State and eventually reached Ann town.

According to the PRA Magway Commander-in-Chief, nine people, including a sergeant from the military council, were killed and around 10 others were injured in the attack by the local defense group. On the morning of 20 November, 16 military vehicles departed from Magway. Later that evening, the military council column providing security for the convoy was attacked.
