Local residents report that one civilian was killed and eight others were injured in an airstrike by the military in Htilin Township, Magway Region.

According to locals, the junta conducted at least four jet fighter attacks on Aing Ma village and Chaung Pauk intersection in Htilin Township on 22 October.

“One person was killed and eight were injured. They attacked without any ongoing battle. Since there were earlier rumors about a planned attack, this seemed like a very deliberate targeting,” said a local resident.

Locals reported that the junta circled Aing Ma village five times with jet fighters, dropping four bombs and firing machine guns.

The bombs reportedly exploded near a monastery, a school, and a rural health clinic.

The attack resulted in the death of a 50-year-old woman and injured eight others, including three children, with one person in critical condition.

According to local residents, on 23 October, the military conducted another airstrike near Aing Ma village, and unexploded ordnance was found in the area.

Previously, on 5 October, the military also conducted an airstrike on homes in Kyin Myauk village, Htilin Township, dropping four bombs that killed four men and one woman.
