Colonel Sai Ngin of the RCSS/SSA serves as the General Secretary of the 7 EAO Alliance. In a statement released after its annual meeting on 24- 25 February 2025, the RCSS/SSA urged all relevant parties to resolve political issues through face-to-face negotiations for lasting peace and the establishment of a federal democratic union. The RCSS/SSA also stated that it would continue to pursue political solutions through dialogue and that it would continue to carry out local administrative functions in the areas it controls. After the military coup, there were up to 40 armed clash events between the Shan State Progress Party (SSPP/SSA) and the Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS/SSA). The number of clashes between these two Shan armed resistance organizations is even higher than the number of conflict events between the RCSS/SSA and the military junta or other ethnic resistance organizations. Although the leaders of both sides decided to cease fire on 29 November 2023, the fighting between the two sides has continued into 2024 and 2025.
