Six military council soldiers killed in mine attack in Launglon

Six military council soldiers were killed and four wounded in a mine attack on a military vehicle returning from a patrol in Launglon Township in Tanintharyi Region, according to the statement by Launglon Township People’s Defense Force (PDF) at around 5:30 pm on 26 November.

Launglon PDF attacked the military vehicle carrying military council soldiers near Myoma police station, at around 5:30 pm on 26 November, with cluster mines, Launglon PDF said.

The military council troops who were attacked by landmines illegally arrest and interrogate pedestrians and ask for money in Launglon Township constantly, according to Launglon Township PDF.

Township PDF has warned the junta soldiers under the military council in Launglon Township to defect to the public as soon as possible and the civilians to always on the alert.

According to the FE5 Tanintharyi, a research group, there were 34 clashes between the PDFs and military council and seven mine attacks in Tanintharyi Region in late October.
