Chin joint resistance forces have captured the Myanmar army camp at the entrance of Thantlang, Chin State, in a raid. During the attack, two junta soldiers with six rifles were also captured alive in the attack, according to the Chin National Front (CNF).

The raid was carried out jointly by the Chin National Army (CNA), Chinland Defense Force – Thantlang and Chinland Defense Force – Zophei on the morning of 14 August.

CNF spokesman Salai Htet Ni said the exact number of casualties on both sides during the battle is not yet known.

“We were able to capture the military council camp in Thantlang this morning. We seized six firearms and captured two junta soldiers alive,” he said, adding that the two captured soldiers were being interrogated.

On the afternoon of 14 August, the Myanmar army supported its ground forces not only with artillery but also with air strikes, the joint forces said.

In addition, the junta’s air force bombed Khapho village, located about five miles from the battlefield, damaging a church and four houses.

The joint forces said the junta’s airstrikes forced villagers to flee, but no one was hurt.

On July 26 this year, CDF -Matupi arrested a police second lieutenant with a revolver, two grenades and 58 bullets in Matupi.
