Mocha cyclone destroyed Tain Nyo IDP camp and around 80 percent of houses in Tainnyo village in MraukU Township of Arakan State.
A total of 773 households and 2,864 people are taking shelter in that IDP camp. The IDP camp was rebuilt after being destroyed by the fire in 2021.
Currently, the IDPs are facing accommodation difficulties. The IDPs have to share their rations with others.They are in urgent need of drinking water and rations as there is ration left only for tomorrow, said U Kyaw Myint, an in-charge of the IDP camp.
The IDPs and villagers are taking shelter in monasteries and schools due to the destruction of houses in Tain Nyo village.
A local from Tain Nyo village said there are urgent needs for help as locals face accommodation difficulty.
Cyclone Mocha destroyed pagodas, monasteries, hospitals, clinics, schools, markets and houses in Sittwe, MraukU, Kyauktaw, Ponnagyun, Gwa, Manaung and Taungup Townships in Arakan State.
