A combined People’s Defense Force (PDF) attacked the government office in the compound of Yangon Region Parliament in Dagon Township of Yangon Region, at 4.30 am on 12 May with a 40 mm grenade launcher, according to the PDFs.
“This morning, the government office was attacked with a 40 mm grenade launcher. Damages and casualties are still unknown as they are stationed there,” a member of Sanchaung PDF said.
The joint attack was carried out by unit-1 of the West District PDF Battalion and Sanchaung PDF.
A security staff working near the incident said: “I heard the explosion as I was on night shift. When I come back in the morning, I know that the sound may be from there.”
Military vehicles, police vehicles and security members are stationed in that compound.
Now the military council has placed barriers in front of police stations on the main roads in Yangon.
