The military council conducted an airstrike on Magyikan village in Myaing Township of Magway Region on the afternoon of 18 and 19 April, locals told the Than Lwin Times.
The military council also burned the village and took some locals as hostages.
A local said: “Yesterday, the army raided the hospital. The military council deployed Pyu Saw Htee members and soldiers by Mi-17. The army conducted airstrikes and burned the village. The army took some patients as hostages.”
The military council’s Mi-35 attacked Magyikan village and used Mi-17 to deploy soldiers. The military council burned down a hospital and civilian houses.
At present, the military column left the village. The detailed information about damages and casualties is still unknown as stability is restored on the ground, a local said.
Currently, the military council is conducting frequent airstrikes in Pakokku and Gangaw Districts in Magway Region. The military council is also carrying out airstrikes on Myaing and Kyaukhtu Townships.
The junta faces international condemnations over the airstrike which killed 168 civilians including 40 children in Kanbalu Township of Sagaing Region.
