Tuipuiral Group Young Mizo Association (YMA) issued a statement on January 12, strongly condemning the military council’s bombing in Mizoram State on the India-Myanmar border and calling on the Indian central government to deal with it.

On January 10 and 11, the military council conducted airstrikes on Camp Victoria, the headquarters of the CNF in Thantalang Township in Chin State on the India-Myanmar border for two consecutive days. A bomb dropped by the military council exploded in Farkawn village of Mizoram State.

On January 12, the YMA issued a statement, saying that it partly damaged an Indian vehicle which was near a border River, to collect sand.

The Tuipuiral Group YMA strongly condemns the military jet fighters disrespectfully flying over the Indian side within the area of YMA, Tuipuiral Group several times for the past two months, and then dropping bombs on the very Indian soil.

Many farmers and workers have been forced out of fear to stop their works when jet-fighters continued to drop bombs two more times on 11th January 2023,” the release added.

The military council’s act amounts to violating international law. The YMA earnestly calls on the Indian government to deal with airstrikes, according to the statement.
