The military council force conducted bombardments in southern Banmauk of Sagaing Region for three consecutive days.
“I saw the flights in Simaw at around 2 pm and around 3.30 pm today. I heard two explosions the first time, three the second time and four in the third time,” a person from the nearby village said on the evening of October 6.
A bomb dropped by the military council exploded near Taunggyi village located about one mile from Simaw village, burning three houses in the villages. Most of bombs exploded outside the village.
“The People’s Defense Force (PDF) is present in Simaw village. The military is stationed in Taunggyi village. Until now, the military cannot enter Simaw village. There are no reports of casualties in the bombardment,” a person from the nearby village.
The Bamauk Revolution (BR) Team which constantly covers the news about the PDF in Banmauk Region confirmed the junta’s bombardment.
The military carried out bombardments in Paypin and Kyaukai villages on October 5 and the areas near Kyaukme Mountain on October 4. Fire broke out in Kyaukai village.
Since October, there have been clashes between the military council force and the PDF in southern Banmauk. Fighting may intensify as the military columns continue to advance.
