Military council troops and police reportedly deploy ambush patrols in wards in downtown Myitkyina, Kachin State, arresting two youths on September 21st as they continue to conduct arbitrary arrests and beatings.
At around 4pm yesterday, two plainclothes regime police officers stopped and arrested a youth in front of the No (2) B.E.H.S. Junta soldiers arrested another youth after storming a house in Rampu ward, a source familiar with the incident told KNG.
“A Honda Fit stopped in front of a boy riding a motorcycle on the road in front of the No(2) B.E.H.S., and [plainclothes junta soldiers] arrested him. His motorcycle was taken by plainclothes policemen of the junta ambush patrol. They did it very quickly. It was as if they arrested the boy based on a precise information. I also heard that another young man was also arrested in Rampu,” he said.
KNG News Agency could not independently confirm the identity of the two arrested youths.
Military council troops then stormed a house in Nam Jing village to arrest a target. When they failed to find him, the junta soldiers beat his 6-year-old child.
Military Council soldiers have increased ambush patrols in recent weeks, making arrests in downtown Myitkyina and conducting more frequent house searches.
