The Chinland Defense Force (CDF Hakha Council) announced on Sept. 17 that it has taken control of more than 90 percent of Hakha Township in Chin State.
Following the military coup, a total of 103 clashes occurred between military council forces and CDF-Hakha members, killing 419 junta soldiers and injuring more than 190 on the regime’s side, CDF -Hakha Council said.
The CDF-Hakha mainly conducts military operations in urban areas of Chin State and has conducted more than 50 operations since the military coup.
The armed group convened a conference with 300 representatives of various resistance groups in Hakha Township on September 9th to accelerate the revolution.
At the conference, the CDF-Hakha Council decided to continue the revolution until the people of Chin State are freed from tyrannical and chauvinist rule and to cooperate with the Chin National Front/Army (CNF/A).
The statement of the CDF-Hakha Council says that it deploys its units in four areas – Mie, Senthang, Zokhua and downtown Hakha – and that it is an officially recognized resistance group in the community during the revolution and that no other armed group or administrative unit will be formed.
Since the coup, the military council has arbitrarily arrested 337 people in Hakha. It has released 309 of them so far, but 28 people remain in detention, according to CDF-Hakha Council.
The regime has also killed six civilians, burned 27 houses, and destroyed three houses with artillery fire.
