Three of five locals abducted by the military council troops from Pugawzun village in Yephyu Township in Tanintharyi Region, were found dead, locals told the Than Lwin Times.
On July 31st, the military council entered Pugawzun village and arrested U Saw Shi, U Maung Kyi, U Aye Ba, Ko Zaw Thar and Ko Win Htein.
On the evening of August 2nd, the remains of U Saw Shi, Ko Zaw Thar and Ko Win Htein were found in a rubber plantation in the north-east of the village.
The military killed three locals and buried their bodies in the ground. Then, the military removed the clues by burning on the burial ground, a local says.
The military council troops continue to detain U Maung Kyi. However, U Aye Ba escaped.
The family members are worried about the safety of U Maung Kyi as the military council troops continue to detain him.
Thousands of locals have fled to safer places as the military council troops are carrying out military operations in the villages in Yephyu Township under the pretext of territorial control.
