Junta troops destroy weapons of Myaing PDF

The junta troops attacked a camp of the People’s Defence Force (PDF) near Kyauktaung village in Myaing Township in Magway Region with the use of excessive forces and torched the weapons of the M7 People’s Defense Army, officials told the Than Lwin Times.

“The military threatened to kill a villager. The villager had to pay five ticals of gold and more than 3.5 million kyats. The junta troops arrested around one-third of the people in Kyauktaung Township. I cannot estimate how many villagers the military has detained as the village is big. We have rescued around 100 villagers. I have not got any contact with the villagers taking shelter at the monastery,” an official of the M7 People’s Defense Army told the Than Lwin Times.

In addition, the junta soldiers are looting the public’s properties in Kyauktaung village. The junta has cut off phone lines, he added.

A military column of around 170 soldiers searched an area near Kyauktaung village in Myaing Township in the afternoon of July 22th and set fire to 17 rockets including a vehicle, two 120-mm launchers, seven 40-mm launchers, carbine bullets, 7.62 bullets and three other guns.

According to the military-backed media, the military seized a PDF camp near Waltaung village in Myaing Township on July 22tth and seized four huts, 12 hand-made guns, four mortar, 50 hand-make grenades, unfinished hand-made grenades, six steel cutters, one inverter, four 12-v batteries, three generators, two punching machines, two solar panels, three packets of gunpowder, 30 cartridges, five detonators and four pairs of uniform.
