The junta soldiers stormed and looted Thinkantone village in Dawei Township in Tanintharyi Region, locals told the Than Lwin Times.

“Junta soldiers arrived in the village. Most locals have gone into hiding due to the military’s artillery shelling. The soldiers stormed the abandoned houses before they left the village. They looted some houses along the road,” a local told the Than Lwin Times.

A military column of around 200 soldiers, who left Dawei to Htee Khee for reinforcement on July 5, was temporarily stationed in Thinkantone village.

Locals fled to safer places as the junta troops fired heavy shells into Thinkantone village and nearby villages.

The junta troops stormed more than 40 houses and took motorbikes, foodstuffs, clothes and precious things.

On July 7th, the junta troops continued to leave for Htee Khee.

The artillery shelling hit and destroyed three houses in the village.
