More than 3,000 houses burned down by the military council in Magway till May

From February, 2021 to May, 2022, the military council burned down more than 3,000 houses in Magway Region, according to the Data for Myanmar’s report.

These data are based on the facts and figures released by the media, local human rights organizations and the IDP committee. The actual number may be higher when incomplete data and the uncollected ground data are added to the list.

“Sagaing and Magway Regions face arsons most. The people in those regions are fighting against the terrorist military valiantly, Ko Chit Win Maung from the Magway Public Strike Committee told the Than Lwin Times.

He called on the public to participate in the revolution and provide aid.

In May, 2022, more than 900 houses were burned down in Myaing, Yesagyo and Pauk Townships. Among them, 692 houses were lost in Myaing Township.

On May 14, the military council burned down more than 500 houses in Magway Region, according to the Data for Myanmar.

Since December, 2021, the military council has started burning the villages in Magway Region. April 2022 saw the highest number of the arson attacks with more than 950 houses burned down.

According to the Data Myanmar’s report, the military burned down 13,840 houses in Sagaing Region and 3,055 houses in Magway Region.
