The Shan State Progressive Party (SSPP) would confront the Restoration Council of Shan State/Shan State Army (RCSS/SSA) as the military council and the RCSS/SSA are carrying out military activities near the camp of the SSPP/SSA in the south of Sanin Mountain near Panglong in Loilem District in southern Shan State, according to the SSPP/SSA Info facebook on April 21st.
In the statement issued by the SSPP/SSA Info, an official of the SSPP/SSA from the battle ground said: “Currently, the military council is advancing towards Sanin Mountain. The military column has not arrived here yet. The sounds of gunfire will be heard as the military column continues to advance. We will shoot them as they are entering our area. Now the military council is marching to our area.”
Regarding the military activities of the RCSS/SSA near the camp of the SSPP/SSA, an officer of the SSPP/SSA said: “The RCSS is preparing to conduct defensive operations.
We will fire shots at any troops which advance towards us. We have no plan to withdraw our troops.”
According to the statement issued by the SSPP/SSA Info on April 21st, three military columns of over 300 soldiers led by Major Tun Win Aung from Battalion 277/278 under No.513 Division are marching via Panglong and Lechar. One is from Pakonepon junction and one from Mongpinphaunghsaing junction while a miliatry column is marching to Sanin Mountain.
Division No.606 led by San Khay, San Pha and Khaing Pha from the RCSS are active in Pharline in the north-west of Sanin Mountain and Kengkhamlone.
A military unit of around 90 members is also active in Narlaung and Konekhay villages in the south of Sanin Mountain.
No.707 Unit is carrying out military activities near the camp of the SSPP/SSA, in Nammo area in the south-east of Lechar, the SSPP/SSA says.
On the other hand, three military columns of around 2,000 soldiers, led by Major Sai Mya, Major Sai Kar Lake and Major Sai Line from Loi Tai Leng Headquarters of the RCSS/SSA, are marching to the region where the military tension mounts.
Many military vehicles loaded with the soldiers of the military council from Nay Pyi Taw are heading to the same area, according to the statement issued by the SSPP/SSA Info.
Currently, there is a military tension as a combined force of the military council and the RCSS/SSA is marching to Sanin Mountain where the SSPP/SSA is stationed. Fighting may resume, the SSPP/SSA says.
