Alertness and flourishing spirits of our youth with the chant “Overthrow the military dictatorship by taking up arms, remain at the highest level, Khu Oo Reh, Chair of the Karenni National Progressive Party (KNPP) told the Kantarawaddy Times.
“I strongly believe that till date, their sacrifice, mutual understanding, forgiveness, cooperation and the commitment for national affairs have not dissipated yet.
He respected and recognized an individual and a group which are playing their parts in the resistance to the military council, in Karenni State and other regions and states.
“I would like to express special thanks to each and every person who helps us. I also take pride in it. There will be necessities on all fronts until this revolution achieves success. I would like to encourage all the people who are defying the military council to assiduously fight till the end without discouragement. I would like to request the people to continue helping us on all fronts,” Khu Oo Reh added.
Since the coup in February, 2021, the people defying the military coup have chosen the protests and then turned to the armed resistance means.
The armed resistance has kicked off in Karenni State since May, 2021. Intense fighting between the local defence forces and the military council troops continues till date.
“We face a lot of fighting. Our friends and comrades were killed and injured in the fighting. The military is carrying out the burning and destruction of houses and the killings of the people. We will revolutionize the military council till the fall of the military council. Our blood will never be cold. We will not feel depressed,” said a member of the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF).
There are reports of the casualties from the Karenni Army (KA) and the People Defense Forces. At the same time, the military council also suffers heavy casualties.
The military council troops are carrying out airstrikes, the excessive use of heavy weapons and the burning of civilian houses, according to the statements by the People’s Defense Forces.
The fighting has displaced nearly 200,000 people in Karenni State. Currently, the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) are in need of humanitarian aid.
