IDP camps in Karenni State face a shortage of personal goods

The IDP camps in Karenni State face a shortage of personal goods, according to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

Bronikar, an IDP from Pardawdu village said: “We have no soaps. We have no money. There is no shops here to buy goods. We have no jobs.”

Daw Isabella said: “We have no enough waterproof sheets. There is no enough toilets. We may be infected with diseases as we have to use public toilets. We are unable to recharge our mobile phones.

We have small batteries. We cannot recharge our batteries at the same time. We did not bring candles.”

According to the statement released by the Karenni Civil Society Network on February 16th, there are over 60,000 IDPs in Demawsoe Township.

Demawsoe Township has the highest number of the IDPs in Karenni State. The IDPs from Demawsoe Township are unable to return to their homes.
