Junta troops arrested and killed a 30-year-old Christian pastor in Kanpetlet Township in southern Shan State on December 12th.
On December 11th, the military council’s troops arrested pastor U Awan Kee from the Church of Christ in Myohaung village in Kanpetlet Township.
On the next day, the junta’s troops shot, killed and abandoned him on the roadside near the hotel at the exit of Kanpetlet, a pastor who declined to be named, said.
The junta’s troops arrested him on his way to Oukpho. The junta’s troops killed him as youths attacked them. His body was abandoned near the hotel, a pastor said.
Oukpho village is located between the old Kanpetlet and the new Kanpetlet.
On December 13rd, the body of the pastor was found abandoned on the roadside near Floral Breeze Hotel in Kanpetlet. Locals and youths held a funeral service for him at Myohaung cemetery in Kanpetlet Township.
As fighting between the junta’s troops and Chinland Defense Force (CDF)-Kanpetlet has intensified in Kanpetlet Township since early December, the military has suffered heavy casualties.
Since the February 1st coup, three pastors have been killed by the junta’s troops in Chin State. They are pastor Kyone Byat Home from Thangtlang Township, pastor U Ngai Kone from Matupi Township and U Kwan Ki from Kanpetlet Township.
Pastor Cung Biak Hum from the TCBC Htantalan was shot dead by the junta’s troops on September 18th when he went outside to help put out the fires caused by the military’s artillery fire.
On September 23rd, the junta’s troops arrested pastor U Ngai Kone from Thadinkaung Christian Association from Ngalaing village in Matupi Township. Since then, he has gone missing.
