One civilian killed, 11 wounded in a bomb blast in Htantalan

One died and 11 others were wounded in a bomb blast in Htantalan Township in Chin State on August 27th, according to locals.

An eyewitness said: “This unexploded bomb landed on the roof of a house when the fighting took place between Htantalan-Civil Defense Force (CDF) and the military council’s troops, on August 25th. The bomb exploded while the unexploded bomb was removed from the roof. The house owner died and his son’s hands were cut off. Another son was injured. A total of 11 people were injured in the explosion.”

A local said: “The bomb exploded while a man was trying to remove an unexploded bomb from the roof.”

According to locals, this bomb was thrown by the military council.

A total of 11 people were wounded in the incident. Some victims who got severe injuries have been admitted to Hakha Hospital while the rest are in Htantalan Hospital, according to a local.

A 10-year-old child died and two locals, wounded by heavy shells near Htantalan Township Police Station in Chin State, on August 25th.

Three police members were killed in a shooting near Myanma Economic Bank in Teedim Township in Chin State on August 25th.

Fighting continues between local PDFs in Mindat, Htantalan and Teedim Townships in Chin State and the military council’s troops.
