Around 10 PM on April 5 the military junta searched within Kachin Baptist Church (KBC) which is situated in Maw Phung village of Myitkyina.
Church responsible person recounted that two military trucks, fully-filled with soldiers, arrived and those soldiers made the investigation for half an hour within the church.
“They came with two trucks and surrounded the Church’s compound. They then made interrogation to gatekeepers. They questioned if who were staying there and they also stated that they were doing their duty,” recounted such responsible person.
On April 3 as well, Christian Baptist Church, Catholic Church and Anglican Church in Mohnyin had been interrogated by the military junta.
Likewise, around 10 PM on March 13 the military junta came with ten trucks and investigated within the compound of Kachin Theological College and Seminary (KTCS).
On February 2, one day after military coup, Myitkyina Council of Churches (MCC), which encompassed inclusively all kinds of Christian denominations, was called for meeting by military junta and explained about the coup.
However, Myitkyina Council of Churches has also involved in the public demonstrations against the military coup.
