The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) said it would work with the local community to restore governance in townships captured during ” Operation 1027″.
Major General Tar Bone Kyaw, General Secretary of TNLA said: “We have a responsibility to administer the towns we have captured. We will do our best for the management and administration to ensure that the local people are able to make a living and secure their lives and property.”
Major General Tar Bone Kyaw said: “In terms of politics, I think we have to fight against the military dictator unitedly. After that, as a next step, we need to hold political talks.”
He continued to say that the TNLA will try to establish an interim revolutionary government in 2025, in which the TNLA and civilians will jointly manage administrative activities.
In its statement released on 27 August, Major General Tar Bone Kyaw and the party said at the meeting with the public during his tour to Kyaukme, Mogok and Mongmit Townships, which were captured by the TNLA during the second phase of “Operation 1027” in northern Shan State.
Major General Tar Bone Kyaw and party visited Kyaukme, Mogok and Mongmit Townships from 15 to 18 August.
During that trip, Major General Tar Bone Kyaw and the party visited the governmental department offices, administrative offices, hospitals and schools in the three townships captured by the TNLA.
Major General Tar Bone Kyaw said: “In the meantime, the PSLF is in charge of governance. However, we have invited groups and committees in which townelders can participate. We would like to call on townelders to give advice if there is any mismanagement. We all have a duty to ensure the rapid and smooth functioning of settlement and administration during this period. We would like to request all the people to participate in these activities.”
Major General Tar Bone Kyaw also invited the CDM staff to participate in the administration activities in the townships captured by the PSLF/TNLA and to negotiate to work together.
Major General Tar Bone Kyaw said the priority is to deliver health, education, transportation, and electricity services as quickly as possible. He also encouraged all CDM staff in the townships to collaborate in filling vacant positions with skilled workers.
Major-General Tar Bone Kyaw said efforts will be made to facilitate small-scale mining exploration and ensure the smooth transportation of rations in Mogok Township.
Brig-Gen Tar Gu Zar, head of Administration Department under the PSLF/TNLA said urged town elders to cooperate with the relevant administrative departments to restore the town’s administrative mechanisms.
In the second phase of Operation 1027 which began on 25 June, the joint force of the TNLA and People’s Defense Forces (PDFs) captured Nawnghkio, Kyaukme, Thibaw, Mogok and Mongmit Townships.
