Palaung State Liberation Front/Ta’ang National Liberation Army (PSLF/TNLA) has issued a warning that action would be taken against non-Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) staff suspected of committing crimes, from seven townships which were seized during Operation 1027.
The PSLF/TNLA released the three-point statement dated 15 May about non-CDM staff in the controlled towns.
In the statement, the PSLF/TNLA said all non-CDM staff who served in various positions under the military council in seven townships controlled by the PSLF/TNLA, have been terminated.
“The TNLA has threatened that if the staff working under the military council return to Namhkam after teaching in Muse, they would be considered spies and arrested at any time. The TNLA told them to take all their belongings if they want to move to Muse,” said a person close to the education community in Namhkam.
The statement continued to say that the PSLF/TNLA would carry out the arrests of non-CDM staff suspected of committing crimes and step-by-step investigations and take actions according to the rules set.
In addition, action will be taken against non-CDM staff who continue to live in the PSLF/TNLA-controlled towns, are making cooperation with the military council such as the withdrawal of salaries and sending reports, the statement says.
In January this year, Major General Tar Jode Jarr, Vice Chair of the PSLF/TNLA said it would join hands with CDM staff.
Currently, the PSLF/TNLA has taken control of Namhsan, Namtu, Manton, Kutkai, Namhkam, Mongngaw and Monglon towns in Operation 1027. The PSLF/TNLA has established its administration in the towns.
