Tiger Ogre column (or) a special anti-terrorism military column made up of imprisoned soldiers has launched its operations in Sagaing Region, according to some pro-military propaganda media reports.
On 24 January, Tiger Ogre column entered KhinU Township via Shwebo Township. According to an online media outlet, the revolutionary forces confirmed the inclusion of prisoners in the column.
The military column, which is vicious and brutal, entered Dapayin Township in the third week of January. They arrested and killed civilians there, according to an official of Dapayin Township People’s Defense Force (PDF).
“This column is notorious for its brutality. So, it commits brutal killings of people. They killed pregnant women and other women along the way. I would like to urge the public to flee to safer places as soon as possible,” the official said.
Some pro-military media which distribute propaganda reported that the anti-terrorism column which calls itself the Tiger Ogre entered Kanbalu, Sagaing Region on 27 January.
Tiger Ogre column is formed proportionally with the volunteers who want to join the army, veterans, those who have battle experience and are incarcerated in military prisons and civilian prisons because of their crimes and active soldiers with combat experience, pro-military media reported.
However, it is not yet known exactly in which region the column will be active, and there are speculations that it may enter Kawlin.
