Junta captain killed at PDF checkpoint in Magway’s Pauk

A regime military captain and a corporal traveling in a civilian vehicle were shot dead on the spot by members of the People’s Defense Force (PDF) at a checkpoint set up by resistance members in Pauk Township, Magway Region, according to PDF Battalion-1.

On Jan. 27, a Mark-2 car carrying four military council soldiers who were leaving the pro-military village of Yargyipyin, four miles north of Pauk, was attacked by PDF members near Ohntar village.

As a result of PDF attack, a junta private, and captain named Htein Lin Soe fled with gunshot wounds, Bo Let Yar of Myaing PDF Battalion-1 told Than Lwin Times.

He also said that as a result of the gunfire, one PDF soldier was hit in the thigh and heel.

After the attack, resistance fighters tried to set fire to the junta’s car, but decided to retreat because they were worried about their security and the arrival of junta reinforcements.

The raid was carried out jointly by the Pauk village defense force and the Yaw Defense Force (YDF).

A MA -3 rifle, a box of 68 bullets, an Icon and a bulletproof vest were confiscated.
